Max and the team make a decision to return to Igarra's world and try to figure out what has happened since he has been gone.

Upon their arrival they learn Max's place as the world champion has been taken by another. He must defeat the new champion or suffer death.

They had come in hopes of growing stronger in the tower on a different world. Now once again it seems that there is a game in play and Max and the rest are merely pieces on the board. Can they survive this new threat and return home to their world?

If you're at book 8 you know what you're getting at this point, and this is a good one. Nice pacing and the series remains great easy fun.
Edit: the blurb was for the next book when this was released, it's now thankfully spoiler free!)

Another fun adventure in the series

This is genuinely the worst one yet. Only buy this if you want to bore someone to sleep. I got it as a 2 for 1 and I still want my money back.

Well that was a waste of time. And we've made half this and the last book a complete waste of time.
