I have throughly enjoyed the series, for it's history it's battles, the writing has been excellent, and though not the best the narration is good and excitable, however,,,
this book seems repetitive in format, hired by them - battle, hired by someone else - battle , like several short stories loosely linked.
I would still buy book 7 for griff hosker is a great storyteller.

Brilliant narrator giving appropriate voices to many characters, will be looking for more of his work.

Just a rattling good yarn enjoyed this and those leading up to it.

Marston York’s reading of the Griff Hosker books is my key method of relaxation after a long day, despite tales of swords slicing through noses and eye sockets and into the brain. These books are based on true events which doesn’t make everything a happy ending. Enjoy

Great fictionalisation of Sir John Hawkwood
