An aging actor attempts to revive his career by entering a celebrity poker game for a reality TV show. Can he outwit his devious opponents, or is his fate doomed from the outset?

A successful crime writer dies under seemingly natural circumstances, but for one cop, doubts are lingering. There's certainly motive for murder - or is there more to the case than meets the eye?

Lincoln Rhyme is announced dead, shot by one of his suspects in cold blood. Is this the end of the line for the criminalist, or just another twist in the tale?

I'm a big fan of Jeffery Deaver's novels, but as with earlier short story collections this was disappointing. Partly because of the narrators (most read it badly), but also because the stories are formulaic, and don't end soon enough - by that I mean they'd have much more of a 'lock' if he didn't feel the need to add a section tying everything up. I'd much prefer him to finish on the slap of the story twist.

Not Deaver's best

Thoroughly enjoyed these stories, so varied and captivating. Couldn’t stop listening, I’m now going to see if I can find some more!

First book of short stories I’ve listened too and I really enjoyed it. Definite worth a listen

Excellent collection of stories

I listened to a few chapters then skipped a few. The narrators sounded like they could not care if they had an audience. waste of time and money.

Very Bland
