Detective Everleigh Beckett and P.I. Isaac Stern have partnered to solve two missing persons cases in time for the Christmas holidays, but when a man shows up in a hospital, claiming to be Adam O’Sullivan, Everleigh has to decide if he’s delusional or telling the truth.

The case of Adam and Caleb O’Sullivan has haunted the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department for decades. The brothers were believed to have been abducted by their father, Mitchell, more than forty years before, but no trace of them had ever been found.

Everleigh believes she and Isaac can find the answers in an off-the-grid commune sequestered in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, but FBI agent Dwight Aldrich wants to solve the case himself.

Will Everleigh and Isaac find the truth, or will they find themselves in danger from a reclusive commune that just wants to be left alone?

This is the latest instalment of the series and it makes me wish Christmas was every day so that I could find out what happens next. Everleigh and Isaac have a wonderful committed relationship where they support each other professionally and personally. When a cold case falls into Everleigh's lap, Isaac goes along for more than the ride. There is danger and mystery but also the chance to solve a case that will bring closure to a few families. Definitely in the spirit of Christmas!

I always love the Kelley Hazen and ML Hamilton partnership. With this series, ML Hamilton has picked some really interesting cases and Kelley Hazen, as usual, given them voice. I am already looking forward to whatever is next for Everleigh and Isaac!

This audiobook was given to me for free at my request and I have voluntarily provided this review.

I loved this story more than the other two. I do know it’s partly because I’m really getting to know the characters. This one has more going on and kept you listening hard because you didn’t want to miss anything. If I was to moan about anything, it’s that I have to wait a whole year for the next book in this series. Kelley Hazen really knows how to increase the excitement and you feel the atmosphere and can imagine exactly what is being described

Best of the Christmas miracle so far
