The situation on Earth has finally stabilised. Bren Cameron has no more decided to go on a brief holiday to meet his brother when serious issues on the space station derails all such notions!
Cajieri, the aji’s heir, and the aiji-dowager, are needed to handle both problematic bureaucrats and the alien threat.

C.J. Cherryh writes in a lucid style, full of delightful phrasings that percolates in your imagination for a long time - the mark of a quality writer.

The performance is generally good, many voices are excellently done and totally apt for the character. A few voices aren’t quite within the performer’s range, and become less enjoyable because of that. I have had a major issue with the voice chosen for the powerful, intelligent, and far seeing ruler of the Aishidi’tat, Taibini, since it Wes nothing short of villainous. Tabini’s voice has evolved a bit, it’s still odd, but less like the main adversary’s.
