Capt. Joe Kent
The mystique of the river life has often been romanticized but rarely scrutinized. The brotherhood of mariners who live and work the waterways of the heartland is made up of a rare breed that usually keeps to itself. Towboat Joe has broken the golden rule of "what happens on the boat stays on the boat" by inviting us to set sail on an unprecedented voyage. Captain Joe Kent shares his stories about hardened river men made of steel, with hearts of gold, who have too much time on their hands and not enough fear in their hearts. As each story unfolds, it proves they never know what might be waiting around the next bend to rock the boat. It's not always blue skies and fair tides, but "a calm sea never a skilled sailor made".
Some stories are exciting, some are hilarious, and all are entertaining. Grab a tall drink and a comfortable chair, and sail with Towboat Joe.
