Think your job is purgatory? Try working for the afterlife.

For former man of science — and deeply unhappy medium — Dr Newton Barlow, the war between good and evil is becoming dangerously routine. Purgatory is drowning in bureaucracy, incompetence and paranormal chaos, and Barlow is desperate for a real challenge.

He gets one. When a fiendishly clever crime shakes the afterlife, Barlow and his hopelessly dysfunctional team must somehow overcome their trademark inefficiency before disaster strikes. But with ghost hunts piling up, killer drones on the loose, a sinister jester causing havoc, and his personal life collapsing into supernatural mayhem, Barlow is stretched thinner than roadkill. Darkly funny, fast-paced and packed with supernatural chaos, Tom Fool is the brilliantly witty sequel to The Unhappy Medium.

Perfect for fans of Terry Pratchett, Ben Aaronovitch and Good Omens. Narrated by the wonderful Marston York.

Well worth a listen. It’s easy on the ear and with plenty of daft capers.

Daft but good daft.

Love the humour and daftness of these books! Laugh out loud and lots of references to the less attractive characters in society

Cracking characters!

The Unhappy Medium 2 follows on from the first Unhappy Medium. Both are so imaginative and very creative. The clever use of the language and fantastic characters made me laugh out loud. It is supremely narrated by Marston York who gives amazing voices to everyone. I loved both and hope there’s a third soon.

So much fun!

Another entertaining and imaginative installment for the purgatorians. I'll definitely be purchasing Wretched Things when it's released in audiobook format

Looking forward to Book 3
