This is the story of a woman's life, her marriage and the bonds that tie her to her two boys. When the marriage ends she battles to keep her children, while trying to sustain an emotional life of her own and to earn a living. Her boys grow older, but they are still the centre of her life.

I struggled to get past how annoying some of the main characters were. It failed the; ‘but do I care’ test. Beautifully written though.

Not her best

I found this novel disappointing. As one review said - more a series of linked vignettes then a novel. Many of the event described are depressing and it has a depressing outlook in general. You are very much trapped inside this woman's mind. The reader can't really tell whether she's mad or sane, meek or controlling, nasty or nice. Wouldn't recommend.

Not her best! Beware, very depressing.
