A COVID-19 time travel romantic suspense novella. Hackle County, Book I.

Hackle County health inspector April Islip believes handsome tavern owner Clay Nolan might be Mr. Right - until he refuses to make his customers wear masks. Local residents are riled up about COVID-19, threatening April, when all she’s trying to do is save lives. When one of Clay’s irate customers runs April’s car off the road on the Fourth of July, she’s mysteriously transported back in time to 1970 and given the chance to right a past wrong. Can she thwart a dangerous plot involving Clay’s grandfather that doomed Hackle County’s future and her relationship with Clay?

This was an interesting listen. I think most of us who were old enough to remember, remember what it was like during the Covid pandemic. There was a lot of confusion and doubt mixed in with strong convictions and a lack of clarity that made containing the pandemic challenging. What I wasn't expecting was for this audiobook to capture those emotions, in the midst of some time travel and a bit of sweet small town romance. That is a lot for this novella to tackle which it manages well. The story is quite fast paced with plenty to keep the reader/listener hooked!
