Tim was a beautiful young man with the mind of a child. Mary Horton was a lonely and bitter middle-aged spinster. They were outcasts in a cruel, unbending world – until their lives were joined and forever altered by the forbidden promise of a very special love.

I enjoyed the book as a lifelike happening and concern for a fellow human being.

Only occasionally do I feel a bit sad when a book ends - but this is one of them. I like books that I can really think about between listening and this is one of them. Really beautifully written and extremely well narrated by Kate Hood. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant

I really enjoyed this book. It is a lovely story told from a different perspective than the norm.
Not for the woke/pc brigade. The use of "retard, pet moron and ning nong" will upset them. The use of certain words aside, it is a book of its time and serves to reminds us the word has moved on.

a very different type of love story.
