Two decades of secrets. One shocking discovery...

When a skull is found in Lough Coyne, facial reconstruction expert Dr Carla Steele is drawn into a 14-year-old case – but not all cases are cold, as Carla discovers when she and local Garda DS Jack Maguire find the brutally murdered body of a local woman close to the water's edge.

Together with Carla's partner, criminal psychologist Grace Franicosi, Carla and Jack uncover a tragic story with very dangerous and current implications.

Since the disappearance of her best friend, Carla has dedicated her career to bringing the dead home, but this time it's the living who are counting on her. In a race to save another woman, will they be able to stop the killer in time?

Eleştirmen yorumları

'Three Little Birds is as immersive and chilling as lake water itself. I had to know how it was going to end!' (Jane Casey, author of the Maeve Kerrigan series)
'This story is told so authentically that it feels like a real life investigation told in real time. Griptastic!' (Liz Nugent, Sunday Times bestselling author)

The story itself was quite good, but it was marred by the poor narrator. It was to the extent that I drifted out of the story and then found it hard to work out where I was. Every character, both male and female, sounded exactly the same. I would get another book in this series but not if it is narrated by the same actor.

Monotonous narrator

I was glued to this story. Loved the twists and turns. And felt like I was submerged in their lives. Facial reconstruction is fascinating and Sam Blake brought this skill it to life.

Gripping

I really enjoyed this book and looks forward to reading more from Sam Blake. The twists and turns in the plot made my ironing fly by!

A thoroughly good listen.

Good overall story.
I think the audio needs a bit of editing. Switching between the characters was a bit disjointed and at times repeated the previous line. I found it difficult to follow who was speaking.

Intriguing plot

Great characters, excellent narration and an evocative setting. Had all the bits you need for a gripping thriller.
