When a missing child is found miles from home with no explanation, relief should follow.

Instead, doubt does.

Laura and Mark Bennett’s son disappears overnight—and returns the same day. Alive. Unharmed. Different.

The details don’t line up. The shoes aren’t his. His memories feel rehearsed. And when Mark begins asking the wrong questions, the answers unravel something far more dangerous than a kidnapping.

As an outside investigator quietly reviews records and timelines, a devastating possibility emerges: the child who came home may not be the one who left.

Told through shifting perspectives, The Wrong Missing Child is a psychological thriller about identity, maternal fear, and the terrible power of “stability” when truth threatens to destroy a family. As the past closes in and systems designed to protect begin to conceal, the question becomes unavoidable:

If a child is safe, loved, and thriving—does the truth still matter?

And who decides?

Tense, restrained, and deeply unsettling, this novella will stay with you long after the final chapter.

I’m about 30 minutes to the end thank goodness! But I still have absolutely no idea what is happening. The only reason I haven’t given up is because I keep hoping it will improve. The narration is the worse I have ever listened to, so monotonous and droning I can’t wait for it to finish.

Absolutely Appalling!

This has to be a joke…the voice ‘reading’ this isn’t human, just an appalling ‘robot.’ This is so bad I cannot really write a credible review as words fail me to express how bad this is!

I'm trying at this because I hate not finishing books, but it's actually painful! I'm halfway through (thank goodness it's only a novella!) and I don't have a clue as to what's happening. The writing is poor with loads of glaring inconsistencies, and the narrator sounds like a robot, definitely not human. I'd be surprised if there was any human input into this at all. I don't usually leave reviews, but this is so bad I felt I needed to warn people!

absolutely awful

The narration is awful!!
The sharp abrupt way he says “he said” “she said”
I wanted to hear the story but I could not stand it in the end

Narration 😩

Definitely read by a computer, I tried to push through as I don’t like bad narration to get in the way of a good story but it felt like it had been written by AI too. Just no consistency. I kept wondering if I’d misheard or accidentally skipped passages.

Awful narration and sketchy storyline
