When it comes to hockey, I'm as good at scoring off the ice as I am on it. With puck bunnies in every city, I’ve got my bachelor life dialed in—no strings, no problem. I’ve got a type: hot, blonde, and easy. So when Sarah Nelson, my teammate’s brunette sister, storms into my life, I’m not interested. She’s feisty, way too serious, and not my kind of fun. But my mom, who’s now living with me and complicating everything, likes her, and COVID-19 just put us all on lockdown.

Sarah’s fresh out of a breakup and staying at her brother’s place, looking for work—fast. When I offer her a temporary job that means living under my roof, she reluctantly agrees. I enjoyed this book and its characters. They are dealing with the beginnings of Covid 19 and the quarantine process and wearing masks etc.. It wasn’t overly done but I didn’t enjoy that part of the book. I didn’t think it would affect me in anyway but it kind of did. I’m not going to lessen my stars b/c it is a personal issue. I did enjoy the other aspects of this book. The narration was great. I definitely recommend this books.

Brilliant dual narration from Marcio Catalano and Samantha Brentmoor

Quinn is a hockey player, who is handsome and he knows how to use his appeal. He never has a problem with the ladies. He needs help to care for his Mum who has early stages of Parkinson's. As his mother is difficult he is having trouble finding her a carer . Sarah is the sister of his best mate on the team and they do not get on. Her own life is not going well as she finds out her but she is out of boyfriend was married. Sarah is really good with Quinn's mum. The two of them keep fighting ,with lockdown slowly Quinn starts to want more with her than fighting.

Sarah hates Quinn she knows he’s a player who has puck bunnies falling at his feet but she’s there to look after his mother .She just has to get on with her job and she ignores him until she can’t and their love to hate each other turns into something else .

This is the fourth book in The Playmakers series, a Hockey Romance. The story is set during the pandemic. Quinn and Sarah's story is beautifully written, emotional, and engaging. Quinn is handsome, supportive, and protective. Sarah (Gage's sister from Gauging the Player) is beautiful, smart, determined, and caring. They are perfect together. I liked the banter, the slow burn, the sizzling chemistry, the humor, the friendship, the mystery, and the suspense. The supporting characters are great, including Sarah's dog!, and I loved to see again the characters from the first books in the series. Quinn's mother is an amazing side character. Marcio Catalano and Samantha Brentmoor did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Defending the Reaper, the next book in the series.

Okay, I’ll admit it… I’m a huge hockey fan and an even bigger fan of romance. Put them together, and I’m already in love. This entire series stands out among the genre- well-written, smart, funny, and with all of the human complexity of falling in love when you least expect it.

Quinn Hadley is an NHL hockey player, taking in one-night stands with puck bunnies that come and go with no commitment. He’s also taking care of his disabled mother. He hires Sarah Nelson to be the caregiver for his mother. Sarah is an engineer, but she’s healing from a failed relationship and needs to work to get her life back on track. Quinn and Sarah do not much care for each other… Until COVID forces them all into lockdown. Together.

What they learn is that neither is as stereotypical as they initially seem. When their guards are down, the sparks fly and the chemistry is undeniable.

These books can be enjoyed as stand alone books, but they are interwoven and are best enjoyed in order. I highly recommend this series! The performances are exceptional, and completely do these characters justice.

This series is so good, whether you’re a hockey fan or not.
