This is a gentle detective story, which takes you around the clues. Guided skilfully by the Queen, with care not to step in anyone's toes. Samantha Bond read this story, with great character distinction and easy flow. Can,t wait to listen to the next.

I was gifted this book, and frankly - since I am not particularly interested in the royal family - I wasn't very excited to read it and didn't know what to expect. But the author pleasantly surprised me. The book is skillfully plotted and written with humanity and kindness as well as razor-sharp, intelligent humour. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

A lovely treat!

Started this and wasn’t expecting much, didn’t think I would finish it. I was so wrong, interesting take on The Queen, not cringeworthy and all I could see was Olivia Coleman playing the part of The Queen. I felt the plot was well constructed and never disappointed. Narration was perfect, all in all a gentle story that carried you to the end . Would recommend.

Surprisingly good

An unusual view of the Queen. But why not? Suspend some of your reality and just imagine if this were true!

Silly but glorious

Extremely well thought out and delivered. Sophia Bennett has what seems a thorough understanding of the Queen and the pageantry that surrounds her. Told looking over the shoulder of an asst. Private Secretary, the story is believable and very gripping. I particularly enjoyed the Underground bit.
Samantha Bond's voice is very fitting for such a royal tale.
I have the next book in my wish list, and know I'll enjoy that one as much as the first.
