Hannah’s life is almost perfect. She’s a full-time mother to two young children and married to successful cardiologist Daniel.

The only thing missing is a project of her own. So she pours heart and soul into converting their stone barn into a beautiful holiday rental.

Things take a dark turn when visitors Mike and Nadia come to stay. They are noisy, dirty, and disrespectful. Hannah is incensed by their behavior, worried they may wreck her lovingly restored barn.

But she gradually realizes that property damage is the least of her worries. Nadia and Mike aren’t here just for a holiday—they have a deeper, darker purpose, one that threatens to destroy Hannah’s entire life.

Spiraling into a nightmare that grows worse with each passing day, Hannah has to find the courage to fight back. But Mike and Nadia are clever and ruthless and they know something that Hannah doesn’t—a shocking secret from the past....

Enjoyed this title so so much. Binge listened in two days if that on and off. I love this author. A massive 5 stars without doubt. The narration was equally as good and I have just purchased another audiobook by the same author. This is my second title so far by her. The story kept me engaged all the way thru and I didn’t find my mind wandering like sometimes. I would recommend this book to any thriller / psychological fans. Very well thought out audiobook. This one is being added to my collections to listen to again the future sometime.

I absolutely loved this story and there are many twists and turns. My nerves felt as though they were quite literally jangling in some parts. I couldn't wait for the next chapter and lay awake until 01.45 to finish the last few chapters!
Mike is a particularly unsavoury character but I really warmed to the children.
One criticism would be that the roles of the male characters would have been better (in my opinion) read by men rather than Penelope Rawlins narrating all the male roles herself.
Overall, I absolutely loved it! On to the next of Miranda's novels. xx

Couldn't wait for the next chapter.......
