Raise your hand if you've ever done this. Written a racy message and sent it to—oops—the wrong person.

Yeah, me too. Except, I sent my latest Tales of a Naughty Virgin column detailing my fantasies about my hot, charming, thoroughly bangable next-door-neighbor to…MY ENTIRE COMPANY.

Did I mention I'm a children's book editor?

Well, I was.

*Facepalm*

At least the column goes viral, but I'm still the gal who gets fired for her not-safe-for-work thoughts about the so-called "Mister Sexy Pants."

Now I need a job stat, so I jump on the first opportunity. And I come face to face with my new boss.

Mr. Sexy Pants himself.

Item number one on my to-do list? Make sure my boss never finds out his alter ego…since all of New York knows I want Mister Sexy Pants to punch my virgin club card.

This is Veronica and Milo’s romance. The tropes include: mistaken identity romantic comedy, workplace romance, complete with dating mishaps, sizzling sexual tension, a hot nerd boss hero, a chaotically delightful heroine, an awkward incident with glitter, and a virgin’s NSFW to-do list.

The human characters are not the only ones who I enjoyed getting to know in this audio book. The furry ones were the icing on this fun and sweet cake. I mix my thriller listens with romance and fun sweet listens and this is just that.

Fabulous listen.

What a fun, sweet, sexy and angst free read. Just so you know, I listened to the audio version, and it was a delight to listen to, made even more enjoyable by perfect narration from Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin, they, just like Veronica and Milo, are a match made in heaven. Even their dogs are cute together. In fact Milo may just be THE perfect book boyfriend - we just need to quell his idea of a dating hiatus (don’t you hate it when an ex does a number on your book boyfriend?). The pull between Mr Sexy Pants and Miss Cute Devil Butt/Giltter Gal is strong though, and listening to them skirt around their attraction is so much fun. Their flirty texts are brilliant, I love their bantering, and let’s not forget those cute pets, StudMuffin, HotStuff and Trudy. A perfect beach read to relax, entertain and bring a smile to your face. I loved it.

This was such a great listen for a hot summer day! I love Milo and Veronica, they’re amazing people and amazing together. Their struggles felt real, and the book had a perfect balance between problems and solutions, hard times and fun times. Just don’t listen to it while you’re working, trust me. Their fun times are too distracting to get any work done!

The Virgin Next Door had a cute setup and a sweet, nerdy hero I enjoyed. There were funny scenes, but at times, the humour felt a bit too over-the-top, like it was trying a little too hard to be quirky or outrageous. That made it harder for me to fully connect, even though I liked the overall vibe.
Still, it was a light and easy read.
