A sexy standalone forbidden sports romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely, performed by Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson! The woman I want is as off-limits as they come. I had an excuse two years ago when I met her on campus. She interviewed me for a story on major league baseball's rising stars, and we shared a hot, passionate night that ended far too soon, and without a mention of who her father was. Now I know the innocent but sexy woman I can't stop thinking about is the coach's daughter. That means her dad is the guy who determines if I bat fourth in the starting lineup in every game, or ride the bench. All the more reason to resist alluring, confident, brainy Reese every time I run into the reporter-turned-sports publicist. That ought to be easy enough, until the time she confesses she's still carrying her V card, and she's been wanting me to cash it in since the day we met. Staying away from her is going to be harder than resisting a fastball down the middle. Especially since I'm pretty sure she's the one who got away, and letting her slip through my fingers again would be a rookie mistake. This is Holden and Reese's romance. The tropes include: coach's daughter, the one that got away, grumpy sunshine, player and publicist, forced proximity.©2020 Lauren Blakely Books (P)2026 Lauren Blakely Books Contemporary Romantic Comedy Romantik Sports Çağdaş Romantizm Komedi

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me listening throughout the day wanting to know what was going to happen next. My only issue really is the virgin element and some things that are said that leave me trying to figure out how and why. Otherwise, it’s a fun and entertaining story. I love that it had very little drama. And practically none in the relationship. The consent conversations were important to the characters and that really made an impact on the way they were viewed. I know I loved Holden just a little bit more for his concern.

I will say that out of the five...yes five epilogues, I felt only two were really about this couple. The rest were more to let us know about other characters. It was fun to include but not necessary for the conclusion of this couple’s story.

The narration was top-notch. When I heard it was going to be Ava Erickson and Jason Clarke I could have jumped in excitement. Talk about a dream team narrator pair-up, and they did not disappoint. Props to Lauren for using someone with a believable British accent for a side character. I love how Ava and Jason’s voices complemented each other and has their transitions were smooth and easy to listen to. Five star performances from both of them. The production was great with no issues.

Brilliant narration

It’s all a matter of timing, and for Holden Kingsley and Reese Fallon the timing is definitely off. After meeting and nearly sharing a super hot night together, their ‘date’ is cut short, unforeseen circumstances and all that. Two years later and they are both still carrying a torch for each other, sadly fate is playing a cruel game, and forbidden love comes into play. Can they just be friends? The attraction and chemistry are palpable, and together I knew they would be combustible, they’re the perfect couple, or they would be if circumstances were different. Holden is the ultimate book boyfriend, he’s kind, he’s caring, and he’s sexy AF. Oh, and now that they’re both back in San Francisco, and mixing in the same circles, it’s going to be difficult not to see each other. I’ve got to say this is one of my favourite Lauren Blakely romances. No games (apart from ones on the field), and pure unadulterated romance. Oh, and did I forget to mention, I listened to the audio version. Jason Clarke - enough said - inserts googly eyes (the absolute perfect Holden, down to a tee). Ava Erickson was wonderful as Reese. Together they nailed it.
