Ever so wholesome.
Ever so deadly...
When a local man is found murdered in an English Trust stately home, the community is shaken to its core.
None more so than newcomer Astrid Swift, who finds the body. When she moved from London to the sleepy Dorset village and got a job at the house as an art restorer, she thought she was heading for a quieter life.
Far from it. Because it turns out that rather than being the genteel organisation it seems on the surface, the Trust is a hotbed of politics and intrigue. As Astrid's new friend Kath from the village says: 'It's like the mafia, but with scones.'
As the suspicious deaths mount up and the threat draws closer, Astrid must use every gadget in her restorer's toolkit to solve the mystery, save her reputation – and maybe even her life.
Thrilling, funny and addictive, The Trust is perfect for fans of Richard Osman, Robert Thorogood and Clare Chase.©2022 M.H. Eccleston (P)2022 Head of Zeus Amateur Sleuths Cosy Mystery Private Investigators Women Sleuths Kurgu Dedektif Heyecan verici Komik İyi Hissettiren Gerilim Köy

Excellent narration and a good plot with a mystery but also a significant journey for the main character. Humorous too.

Great Characters

I did enjoy this book and found the plot flowed well with lots of hints and indications of who the murderer could be with a good finish. The only trouble i had with this book was that I didnt like the main character atall and i dont know if this is because of the way the book is written or because of the narration but she comes across as rude and conceited. The other characters were pleasant and well developed with a nod to humour but not laugh out loud and again i dont know if this is due to narration. I would definitely listen to another but would not pay full price for it until i have heard more and can see if another book is the same.

Easy listen

Enjoyed the storyline. Easy to listen to on Audible. Will look out for more from the same author.

This has a likeable lead character and the story jogs along nicely. It's ideal cosy crime. Well read by Ruth Redman. I enjoyed it enough to download and listen to the second book. There was a third book, but when I came back to purchase it, it had mysteriously disappeared. A case for our heroine to investigate, perhaps?

Good choice for fans of cosy crime
