Cecelia Ahern's Flawed meets Never Let Me Go in the pulse-pounding thriller from the top 10 Sunday Times best-selling author of The Escape.

'You have to help me. We're not being reformed. We're being brainwashed.'

All 16-year-old Drew Finch wants is to be left alone. She's not interested in spending time with her mum and stepdad, and when her disruptive 15-year-old brother, Mason, is expelled from school for the third time and sent to a residential reform academy, she's almost relieved.

Everything changes when she's followed home from school by the mysterious Dr Cobey, who claims to have a message from Mason. There is something sinister about the 'treatment' he is undergoing. The school is changing people.

Determined to help her brother, Drew must infiltrate the academy and unearth its deepest, darkest secrets.

Before it's too late.

It was a very strange listen still not sure why and how’s and what’s if you know what I mean.

It didn't take me long to listen to this as the story just demanded my attention. The characters are well rounded and likable, you find yourself rooting for them and holding your breath as they fight against everything they are up against. The narrator does a great job as Drew. Throwing herself into the story and bringing it to life.
The one thing that let this down? It ended.

Well this one surprised me, I did not actually realise that it was a Young Adult novel until after I'd finished it and came to write the review, that's when I noticed the little yellow circle on the cover, I would not have known by listening to it, it's quite a terrifying story, more so than many adult thrillers I've read or listened to.

Drew is our main character, she's one brave young lady who often does things that appear to be foolish at first but she manages to wriggle free from each and every disaster throughout the story, thank goodness, I was very stressed at one point (several points in fact) but I was more than delighted with the ending which helped lower my blood pressure back down a little.

Georgia Maguire gives a sterling performance throughout.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good thriller (and conspiracies).
