An ancient mirror. A missing boy. A reality twisted by dark forces beyond comprehension.
In this eerie and cerebral tale of supernatural horror, Henry S. Whitehead and H. P. Lovecraft blend gothic dread with cosmic terror. The Trap follows the mysterious disappearance of Robert Grandison, a student at a quiet schoolhouse, shortly after the arrival of an antique mirror retrieved from a decaying estate. His tutor, Canevin, soon uncovers that the mirror is more than an object—it’s a portal to a strange, warped dimension where time fractures, forms mutate, and lost souls linger.
As Canevin pieces together the truth, he encounters the lingering presence of Axel Holm, the mirror’s original owner, whose hunger for immortality has cursed the glass with malevolent power. With Robert’s life—and sanity—hanging in the balance, Canevin must confront the eldritch forces that lie just beyond the surface of the mirror… before it’s too late.
This chilling short story offers Lovecraftian horror with a psychological edge, where science meets sorcery and no reflection can be trusted.
