For Rem and Lem, thieving is an art form and the city of Perry is an ever expanding canvas for the twins to practice their artistic nature.
The life of a thief is anything but dull in the epidemic-afflicted Perry. That strikes doubly true for the Pestelson twins.
After burgling the wrong house, Rem and Lem are offered a position in the famed Touch organization. The coin is abundant and prompt, the jobs challenging but well-equipped, and the management is more than competent - everything a thief could ask for.
But, when a moral quandary threatens to topple their new enterprise, will the twins choose wealth over the life of an innocent child, especially when that child might hold the cure to the Dark Lung, the epidemic which has been sweeping through the city?
Discover the origins of Rem and Lem in this original novella set in the world of The Nine Cities and The Warrior Poet Archives.
