One dark elf. Two enchanted blades. One unknown enemy. And a horde of invaders.

When a blood-thirsty banc of orcs, led by an as-yet-unseen enemy, comes rampaging out of the Spine of the World, it lays waste to everything in its path. Dark elf ranger Drizzt Do'Urden and his most trusted friends find themselves in the path of destruction. As blades slash and feet trample, even the heroes may not survive a desperate stand.

I came back to this saga of lawful good drow after a long pause. Had a break of many years and I am glad I came back to listen this book

Once again thrilling adventure of Drizzt

This is very poorly written and I struggled to finish it. Every rule of good creative writing is seemingly broken, and tge end result is about as riveting as someone describing cutscences from a game you haven't played. Flat, 2 dimensional characters that you will not care about. No interesting metaphor or descriptive text, literally no engament of any senses other than visual. 'Show don't tell' goes out the window with endless exposition and instead of character growth you get characters sitting around telling themselves and each other how much they have grown! Will go out of my way to avoid another encounter with this series. Even the battles scenes are about as riveting as a set of stage directions...

Dull and tedious.
