Susan Chambers woke up feeling like she had been hit by a bus.

Mostly because she had been hit by a bus.

And Susan Chambers wasn’t so much waking up, as she was arriving in The After Death, the place between one life and the next.

After forty-two years as a human, a freshly dead Susan must tackle some of the biggest questions in life, death and everything that comes after.

Why are mosquitoes the way they are?

What lessons can a soul learn from a single life?

Does it really matter if you were a good person?

Is there such a thing as a life that doesn’t matter at all?

With help from Aurora, her guide to The After Death, Susan must navigate through the memories and experiences that defined her before her soul can move on to its next experience. In confronting her past, her choices, and her failings, Susan must reconcile what it means to be alive, to live, and to let go.

I cried, I belly laughed. I faced up to a little bit of what has made me me over the years… very highly recommend this book.

It’s everything I thought it would be, and more!

this is right up my alley. The spiritual, existential, nature of the novel is something I was drawn to immediently. the main character of Susan starts off as unlikable. We see her go through a journey with the help of guide Aurora. Aurora is such an intriguing character. Susan, I did not anticipate liking her as much as I did. she was very funny. The book does an amazing job of really putting things into perspective and questioning things most people think they have figured out already. Loved it!

incredibly funny and thought provoking.

This novella had me hooked as soon as I heard Genna's dulcet tones! It was thought provoking & dealt with difficult topics sensitively, thank you for providing the trigger warnings. An absolutely fantastic novella! Im so glad Gwenna did the narration as it just wouldn't have been the same without her passion coming through. can't recommend this book enough!!

absolutely fantastic!!

I'm not usually one for audiobooks, but this had me enraptured from start to finish. The balance of witty humour and deep emotional confrontations made this a delightful listen, made even better by Gwenna's delivery. This is such a gem

A beautiful and witty story
