Bridget Collins’ work can be challenging but this took the biscuit, so dragged out and yet another book I’ve attempted recently that seems to be going nowhere such that in the end I don’t care and give up.

Slower than slow

The concept was amazing and so imaginative, as you would expect with a Bridget collins novel. I’m not gifted with the vocabulary to describe how listening to her books makes me feel, but I’m so grateful I was introduced.
The narration was fabulous and made it come alive, I was totally absorbed from start to finish.

I really loved the story, it is so unusual. Bridget Collins has a wonderful and unusual imagination. It was excellently performed, i thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

An original story and made all the better Bridget and Ned’s telling of it. Best story I’ve listened to in a while.

Collins' writing is always spectacular so it delivered on that front, as usual. The story slightly lacked in parts for me, I found myself a little disinterested at times, and it's definitely not my favourite of her novels - but her endings are always satisfying and once this book ended I felt much better about it as a whole! My main gripe is with the male voice actor - I found his delivery and inflections odd and not suited to a lot of the dialogue. He's good at accents though, and when he wasn't putting an upward inflection on every other word, he was enjoyable to listen to. But that's just my opinion, the author must have been happy with his delivery and that's all that matters. Overall, would recommend!
