Since the near-destruction of the Iron Hands, Raven Guard and Salamanders on Isstvan V, scattered warbands from these 'shattered Legions' have waged a guerrilla war on Horus' forces across the galaxy.

Now, the crew of the Sisypheum are drawn into a covert assault on a hidden Alpha Legion outpost - an assault orchestrated by none other than the infamous warleader Shadrak Meduson himself. But what does Meduson really hope to make from such a bold move against the sons of Alpharius, arguably the undisputed masters of deception?

A great shorter story, just like many of its bigger counterparts in the Horus Heresy books. It dosnt feel like it's been cut off at the knees like some shorter novellas do. It seems to capture alot of the good in the larger books and dosnt feel distinctly apart, slots in nicely like an undersized puzzle piece.

It's all about Sharrowkyn!

One of the best Heresy short stories and absolutely gutted there isn't more books about the crew of the sisypheum, one of my favourite rag tag groups in the Heresy series, 10/10 also heart breaking, listen to it!!!!
