The Russian by Saul Herzog is the stunning second instalment in the series that has taken the publishing industry, and Hollywood rights departments, by storm. This dazzling tour de force is a full standalone novel. From the mind of one of the most creative and versatile writers working in America today, this book will surely go down as a classic of the spy thriller genre.

If you listen to only one book this year, this is it. Action, adventure, rebellion, provocative foreign agents, characters you can sink your teeth into. If you're looking for a new spy thriller series that will stay with you long after you finish listening, look no further.

Recommended for fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne, and Brad Thor's Scot Harvath.

I really enjoy the way the story is woven around the truth. It makes it feel so real. As one looks back over the years since the book was written it becomes even more clear the direction the US was taking due the influence & meddling by Russia. A fabulous story, well written & superbly narrated. I loved it!

I did not like the 'voice' the narrator used for Lance, it was quite off putting

worrying storyline

I mean.. i didn’t get how good these books are until 48m before the end :D. I love spy thrillers. But there is not unlimited amount of good quality spy thrillers. And some are not as good. Lance Spektor is ok. But not my favorite spy by far. But the way this is written. The combining of fiction and real and potentially real events and truths and theories… that is the best part of this for me so far. And the girls are ok. I admit when the shit started to fall on Lance.. at one point i was like: enough already! I almost got fed up.. but then it all clicked. Cant wait for the next shitstorm. :)
