Three hearts. One consuming fire.

Julian Kade hates everyone. But when a power outage traps him in a Paris elevator with sharp-tongued chef Freya Kapoor and charming street fighter Archer Wilde, an unexpected spark ignites between them. By the end of the twelve hours that follow, they’ve shared their darkest desires…and formed a bond none of them could have expected.

Freya Kapoor has dreams, and getting sidetracked by two billionaires wasn't part of her careful plan. But when the two men who’ve begun to dominate her body and mind present Freya with a chance to open the restaurant of her dreams, boundaries quickly blur…and her orderly world gets increasingly complicated.

Archer Wilde never thought he'd stop fighting long enough to get tangled up with two such different people. Yet the three of them fit together like nothing before, unlocking hidden desires they never knew they craved. But beneath the perfect facade are three individuals battling demons of their own. Ultimately, as passion deepens into something far more dangerous, Freya, Julian, and Archer will have to choose whether they're willing to risk everything they’ve built for a love as fierce as it is free.

I have to say it, while I liked this book, it took me a really long time to come around to not wanting to smack Julian upside the head. He has to be one of the most aggravating MMCs I have come across in a while, and that is saying something. I think it might have been because of my impression of him from TGGE. Once we got into the heart of the story and the background, and traumas of the character’s pasts, I could understand where they were all coming from given their histories, but Julian was still irritating to me until near the end. In the end Julian does redeem himself, but he is one lucky bastard to have not one, but two people who love him that much. Now, about that audio. This multi cast duet was fantastic. Simone voiced Freya in a way that, I can’t imagine anyone other than Simone bringing her to life. Teddy always does an amazing job and his portrayal of Archer was no exception, just exceptional. Brandon made Julian, he was Julian, and even though Julian irritated the crap out of me, the narration was exquisite.

Narration: Multi-cast - Duet narration, first-person present tense, multiple-POV some flashbacks

Tropes: Throple, polyamory, k!nk club, spoiled billionaire, street fighter, chef, v!rgin FMC, Paris, estranged family, anxiety rep, self destructive behavior, they open a restraint for her to run, close proximity, water sports, light BDSM

Overall: 4.5
Spice: 3.5
Humor: 2.5
Drama: 3.5
Darkness: 3
Narration: 5

Freya is doing what she can to save enough to open her own restaurant in Paris. While doing a tasting her best friend’s parents, Julian literally runs into her. Spilling the dessert and blaming her.

Julian is battling some internal demons, as he tries to be someone, he thinks others expect him to be. He’s closed of and combative, fighting his internal demons, going so far as to fire Freya from catering his parents party.

Archer is a bored billionaire with a death wish, which he indulges by competing in illegal street fighting. On his way home one stormy night, he gets stuck in an elevator with Julian and Freya. This chance meeting will change their lives in ways none of them could have anticipated, and may be the single event that helps them become the people they were always meant to be.

Wow. Talk about messy emotions. This was a roller coaster of emotions with complex characters with deep-seated issues, kink exploration, healing and acceptance.

They get stuck in an elevator for 12 hours and it's definitely one of the most entertaining scenes in the book – tense, vulnerable and funny.

I don’t think I’ve read an MMF romance where all three of them start out as strangers, so this felt different and exciting. It’s also very messy, with each of them having emotional barriers up that cause a lot of friction throughout the story.

Despite the mess, their relationship gradually comes together in a way that feels natural. Each connection brings out a different side of them, and they fit so well together.

And of course, this is a Sara Cate book so there’s lots of spice happening while they figure out their feelings – well written and really hot.

The duet multicast narration was an enjoyable, immersive experience. We were introduced to Brandon Francis as Julian in the previous book and I was really excited for him to reprise his role. He really brought Julian’s character to life. The highlight of his performance for me was in Julian’s moments of vulnerability. There was one particular emotional scene that really broke my heart. His French accent wasn’t entirely convincing, but it didn’t take away from the overall performance.

Desiree Ketchum and Jason Clarke delivered strong French accents for the some of the side characters. Teddy Hamilton was a great choice for the role of Archer. He brought a lot of energy and humour to his character. This was my first time listening to Simone Lewis and loved the emotion she brought to her performance, capturing Freya’s sass as well as her vulnerability. Overall, I really enjoyed the narration and thought it elevated the story.

If you like messy MMF romances with emotional depth, humour and spice, with a fantastic cast of narrators, you should definitely pick this up.

This audio was INCREDIBLE.

The full-cast duet narration completely brought these characters to life, and the emotion and depth the narrators gave each character had me completely hooked from start to finish.

We’ve got Julian Kade, the ultimate ice king billionaire, Archer Wilde with his golden retriever energy, and Freya Kapoor, an independent chef chasing her dreams. Throw in a broken elevator, a power outage, a sex club, plenty of spice, kinks, and emotion, and I couldn’t stop listening.

I loved this so much I already want to relisten immediately. This audiobook is an absolute must!!

Wow this truly exceeded my expectations! I absolutely loved how everything came together for Julian, Freya and Archer. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing their characters to life, I felt so immersed in this audiobook!

It’s packed with so much emotion, wit and passion. Julian really grew on me in this book and had the best character development. I enjoyed seeing his bratty side at times and getting a better understanding of his emotions, the anxiety representation felt so relatable. Archer was a sweetie and kinda wild lol, almost like the glue holding everyone together but he needed someone to look out for him too and that is where Freya and Julian fit together with him. Freya came out of her shell more when it came to exploring her sexuality, and I love that she had two amazing billionaire boyfriends to guide her through all of it.

Yes they had their ups and downs but but I think there was enough communication between the three to resolve their issues and fight for their love.

Being back in the Salcious Legacy series was bittersweet, loved seeing Daisy and Ronan again even though they’re older now.

Packed with emotion, wit and passion!

The Rule of Three by Sara Cate is a MMF, billionaire, best friend's brother, enemies to lovers, meet cute, forbidden, found family, opposites attract romance. This book was unexpected in the best way possible. There were so many things I loved about this and I could not get enough of it. I was hooked from the first page and I could not put his book down. The characters and their growth was well written, I loved the Indian representation and the emotional intimacy. This book was spicy, fun and just really good.

This audiobook had a full cast of narrators who were phenomenal. The duet narration by Brandon Francis, Teddy Hamilton, Simone Lewis, Jason Clarke and Desiree Ketchum had me so excited and they did not disappoint. The narrators were absolutely perfect and I have no comments.
