Avalon St. Andrews has endured Hell and war in an attempt to secure freedom and immortality for his people. Raised and conditioned to be both warrior and leader, he now sits on a throne with his sister Eden, governing the Kingdom in peace. While his people enjoy the benefits of his struggle and loss, he is restless, bored and alone.

Avalon is summoned to fight in order to save his people once more as the Kingdom is threatened by a brand new evil. In addition to reigning in a kingship he doesn't want, he is fighting against the very people he has fought so hard to protect. They are determined to throw away their newfound freedom and their newfound leaders.

In this war and in this kingship he feels alone. And for the first time he feels hollow. That is until Amelia Cartier shows up, invading his every thought and shaking up his carefully controlled world.

Now he faces yet another battle - making Amelia his queen.

Loved the storyline. But I have to say it rankled a bit that they had changed the narrator. As good as he was, and it makes sense as the story is told from Avalons point of view, the female voices made me laugh. He sounded like the Wayans brothers in White Chicks. I am really enjoying this set of books. of course you can pick the occasional hole in the storyline, but I have to say, I love it. next book downloading now....

Great storyline. Worth a read.

I found it harder with this one as I was used to characters from the previous books and the mald voice in this took some getting used to so I found it much harder to get into to be honest hoping book 5 is better

a little harder to get into

I wish this narrator did more research about how the characters where portrayed in previous books. Every female character sounded like a back gay man. I really enjoyed first books so I pushed forward with that one but it was much less enjoyable
I wish story was rich in action and margin and not mostly boring kissing descriptions

A bit boring story

What's a shame the narrator was changed to a man who read the female part as though each character was an uber bitchy drag queen . The inflection in his voice could have changed so much. A bit of a let down.

This book has so much action in it. A really good strong storyline that runs through this series. With likeable characters that you will fall for. A brilliant performance.
