Sissy Sawyer, an unredeemed hippy, has an uncanny ability to read the future – and the lives of those she holds dear may soon depend on it... - One afternoon, shadows started to flicker along the corridors of The Red Hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and both guests and staff heard persistent grinding noises that gave them “the freesons” – or goosebumps.

Months later, Sissy Sawyer’s step-nephew Billy drops by with his new girlfriend, T-Yon. Sissy has an uncanny ability to read the future using her special Tarot cards, and T-Yon wants her help. She’s been having terrible dreams about her older brother, Everett, ever since he’s started restoring an old hotel in Baton Rouge...

Editör yorumları

The third installment of British scare master Graham Masterton’s Sissy Sawyer series takes the chain-smoking, straight-shooting hippie fortune-teller from her humble Connecticut abode to the swamps of Louisiana to get to the bottom of the horrifying dreams her step-nephew’s girlfriend T-Yon has been experiencing.

This spine-tingling Southern-Gothic horror yarn, rife with pools of blood and voodoo rituals, is elevated by Liza Ross’ riveting, atmospheric performance and her convincing portrayal of the endearingly eccentric, tarot-reading heroine.

"Sissy is an entertaining and resourceful protagonist, one who could anchor a long-running series." (Booklist)

I’ve really enjoyed this third audiobook in the Sissy Sawyer series. The story is entertaining.

I especially enjoyed the twist at the end. I certainly didn’t see it coming.

As with the previous two audiobooks the narrator, Liza Ross, was outstanding. She made each character come to life. She has to be one of my favourite narrators to date.

I’m looking forward to the next instalment in the series.

I didn't like the narrator from the start the voices she gave some of the main characters were awful and really grated on me I ploughed through it as it sounded like a good story and it was ,if a little gory and explicit in some places
