From the superb Jeffrey Archer, The Prodigal Daughter is the magnificent story of love and politics. It is the enthralling sequel to the global phenomenon Kane and Abel, described by The Times as a 'classic novel of modern literature'.

Hers was the ultimate ambition . . .

The titanic battle between two men obsessed with destroying each other follows on to the next generation. Florentyna Rosnovski, Abel's daughter, inherits all of her father's drive, but none of his wealth.

A woman gifted with beauty and spirit, but above all with indomitable will, she sets out in pursuit of an ambition that dwarfs both Kane and Abel, as she battles for the highest office of all . . .

The follow up to Kane and Abel spends the first half of the book recapping that story through the eyes of Florentina, Abel's daughter and the heroine of this tale. Ultimately for me, that was more interesting than what followed. Fairly pedestrian in pace, unusually for Archer, and just not that much fun... Narration also very robotic. Overall, very average...

OK, but not Kane and Abel

Nothing stressful here! Just a good story, told well! If you want something challenging or deeper this is probably not for you, but for a great story, well written.. a relaxing read.

Easy Listening

I enjoyed this story of love, loss and suspense. Maybe not just as exciting as Kane and Abel buy I wanted to know more about these two families. Looking forward to the next book to follow the next generation of Kanes!

Good Story.

Enjoyable book. Having just finished Kane and Abel, I found the first half of The Prodigal Daughter was a recap of Kane and Abel. However second half of the book was brilliant

So disappointed, loved Kane and Abel then immediately purchased this next chapter in the saga, is it just me or is the narrator’s style like a robot reading? Tried to get into it several times but have now purchased book instead. Voice, tone and performance pretty dreadful I’m afraid.

Narration like a robot!
