They told you her death was an accident.... They lied.

This dark, twisting novel of betrayal and secrets from the Sunday Times bestselling author Tasmina Perry will keep you on the edge of your seat. Perfect for everyone who's been gripped by Showtime TV's THE AFFAIR, Adele Parks' THE STRANGER IN MY HOME and J. P. Delaney's THE GIRL BEFORE. 'Vividly told...with a dark twist' Good Housekeeping

When you're invited to spend a summer in the Hamptons with a group of new friends, you agree - who wouldn't? But then you realise you're taking the place of someone else, a woman who died in mysterious circumstances in the same beach house, just the summer before. Behind closed doors, who can you trust? And which of your housemates has something to hide?

A gripping, pacy read, with a few dark twists I did not see coming - the perfect end-of-summer novel
With a smart plot, characters you'll both love and love to hate, plus plenty of sex, drugs, scandal and mystery, this relentlessly brilliant novel will keep you enthralled from start to end
Dark and twisty . . . suspense-packed drama

I enjoyed this book much more when I read it, and part of the problem is the narration. I imagine it's very demanding to 'do' all the characters, but every time I hear Nat, the main character's husband, my teeth are set on edge - he sounds exactly like the child in the film 'The Shining' as he cycled round the hotel corridors muttering about murder. It completely spoiled the story for me.

Just all right

I loved this novel, which was beautifully narrated by Esther Wane, and contained just enough mystery to keep me up three nights in a row to find out what happened next! I loved this book so much, I wish I hadn’t read it so that I could start reading it all over again without knowing the ending!! A fabulous, deeply moving, mystery novel, with just the right amount of romance to make die-hard romantics like myself believe that, in the end, true love really is possible! Thank you Audible!
