Tyr is a pirate on a mission to catch the firebird. The penalty for failure? Death by ogre king. There is only one woman who can help him find the bird he needs to save his life.
Unfortunately for him, this beautiful woman is an earth witch, and utterly unwilling to be parted from the land that fuels her power.
Unfortunately for her, a pirate only asks politely once....

I downloaded the narration of this book and once again Matt Addis' performance was outstanding! The pace he read transported me into the scenes and his tonal variations brought each character to life. He is a very talented voice actor and I would happily recommend books narrated by him.
I loved the duel nature of our so-called hero in this tale; I spent most of the story hating his guts but it was the glimmers of what Ms Blackstream hid beneath that kept me engaged. Our heroine is exactly what I crave in a leading female character; intelligent, resilient and has plenty of gumption.
I enjoyed the leading hook that this story gives us in the epilogue to Ms Blackstream's next series - Blood Realms. Will be adding them to my Amazon wish list too.
