Özet

I was really looking forward to the next book in the series, but the switch of narrator is jarring! I found this narrator to have a very weird style, with odd emphasis and ... strange pauses . that were slightly. *random*. almost put me off the book.
stick with it, I think I got more used to it and noticed it less towards the end.
another good story, highly recommended.
the series continues to build the characters and they remain engaging and interesting.

This series has it all except needless violence and unnecessary profanity - thank goodness! Twisty plots full of red herrings (which often reveal adjunct but distinct crimes), an irascible but sympathetic lead character - i really like George Cross … not that he would care! The stories have gentle humor, relatable supporting characters who we are getting to know more about in each book, and an insight into the unusual world of a brilliant detective. More please!

George Cross is comp!ex and intriguing character, who draws me in and wants me to know more about him.

What an amazing author and a truly entertaining story. So much humour with twists and turns all the way through. Cross is a brilliant detective you can almost hear the cogs turning as he mulls over the evidence in his mind.
