The One Night Secret did not disappoint. We have a new Steele brother looking for answers that ends up finding a family and forever with Rowan, despite all the hiccups along the way.
James Cassidy as the gruff, h0t headed Maverick, was the perfect balance of surly and sultry, the perfect voice for the MMC; Rose Dioro brought the caring and strong will to Rowan’s character. The narration was absolute chef’s kiss.

Well, my headphones have officially had enough of me, because apparently HALF A STEELE BROTHER IS STILL TOO MUCH FOR THEM TO HANDLE!!!
Brighton Walsh, you really did save one hell of a finale for us!
Maverick and Rowan’s story had me completely absorbed from beginning to end. The chemistry, the spice, the banter, the protective instincts, the family moments and those little acts of service that somehow manage to be ridiculously swoony. I was invested in every single moment, and I genuinely didn’t want to leave Starlight Cove.
But the AUDIO? Oh, my goodness!
James Cassidy and Rose Dioro were absolute perfection.
James embodied Maverick so beautifully, capturing that tough exterior, protective nature and softer side that made me fall for this man. And Rose? She was phenomenal as Rowan, bringing her strength, sharp tongue and fiercely protective mum energy to life with such authenticity.
Together, they made these characters feel real. The duet narration drew me right into their world, making every conversation, every emotional moment and every deliciously spicy scene feel as though I was right there with them.
This is exactly why I love audiobooks so much. When the writing and narration work together this well, listening becomes an experience rather than simply hearing a story.
And this series? Five stars across the board for me. Brighton has given us wonderful couples, unforgettable Steele brothers and a fictional place that genuinely feels like coming home.
I’m not ready to say goodbye to Starlight Cove, but if this is the finale, what a way to finish!
Brighton, can we talk about a second generation, please?

Absolutely amazing performance from both narrators with an extra dash of appreciation for Rose Dioro. Impressive voice range, soothing cadence and the best Mabel yet.
P.S. What is the cost estimate for the groceries in Rowan’s household? I missed that calculation 😅

It was like Maverick was written with James in mind, he was perfect. And Rose nailed Rowans fire and together their banter and chemistry was of the charts.
I loved them so much.
Story:
So sad this series is over, the Steele brothers and their family will have a special place in my heart. I loved each and every one of them. The One-Night Secret and the bonus brother was the perfect ending to this series.
I loved Maverick and he is just like his brothers, because he would do everything for the woman he loves (and her kids)
Rowan was used to doing everything on her own and was to proud and independent to ask for help. In comes Maverick who just sees her, her struggles, the state of her home and their instant connection.
He just takes over and that was not something Rowan was just going to accept and the banter that came because of it was epic.
I love a man who just wants to take care of her without wanting anything in return.
He just saw her, her struggles to keep it all together and he just quietly decided to help her and slowly won her over and became a part of the entire family.
So sad the series is over
