Some nightmares you can't forget

From the depths of sleep, Seattle TV reporter Anna Malone awakens to her phone ringing. She rarely drinks, and this hangover is brutal. Why can't she shake the feeling that something terrible happened last night? And why can't she recall any of it?

But even worse

What Anna does remember: an awkward restaurant meal with her married lover, Russ Knoll, and his unsuspecting wife, Courtney. Russ' phone call reveals that Courtney is missing, and as days go by with no trace, he comes under police scrutiny. Anna's in the spotlight, too, thanks to a TV rival with a grudge. Anna's not proud of her affair, but she and Russ aren't bad people. They're certainly not the killing kind.

Is the one you can't remember....

Anna already suspected that Courtney - a successful, charming author - might have a darker side. Is she truly missing? Perhaps the sudden disturbances in Anna's life aren't accidental after all. But no scenario that Anna imagines can compare to the twisted game unfolding around her, one chilling piece at a time....

I enjoyed this departure from police procedurals although i guessed the perpetrator about half way through. But it's a decent story, very well narrated.

An unusual tale

Kevin O Brien is my new fave Author. I read another of his books ' They won't be hurt' and the Antagonist was as nasty as hell ( with a great voice interpretation from the narrator). This one had me guessing/ double guessing and guessing again. The added bonus is it was FREE but I wouldn't have been unhappy had I used a credit for it. Well worth a listen.

Brilliant & Twisty story

I enjoyed this book. an easy listen even though you guess who the culprit is quite early on but a good twist at the end

Great twist at the end

Surprisingly good actually, didn’t have big expectations but this one was very enjoyable and the writing wasn’t bad either

Good plot

I am so enjoying Kevin O'Brien's books that I am binging them one after another. This was the first one where unfortunately the chosen narrator let it down slightly. I found the rhythm with which he narrated a little annoying; it's like when you suddenly notice a ticking clock and it takes a while to not hear it. Other than that, it was another fantastic book. OK, which one shall I listen to next heehee!

My new favourite author!
