Really enjoyed listening to this book - keeps one engrossed. Amazing performance from Steven Pacey as ever. Good dog walking/lying on the beach stuff.

Exciting if slightly old fashioned

I loved the story and the espionage. If i had been reading it, it’s unlikely i would have persevered through the dense stage setting at the beginning but it was easy to listen to and worth persevering as the action and dialogue sped up, and the numerous names at the start didn’t need deep concentration or remembering. Forsyth has an incredible breath of knowledge of the world stage and events and I enjoyed learning as I listened.
Some of the Russian pronunciation was off in places and the varying American accents were irritating at times but on the whole it was excellently read and Pacey’s voice, tone, intonation etc were impeccable!
I listened in recovery in a hospital bed and it was a great read!

Great audible read!

It seems you need to go back these days to get a true thriller from someone who knows how to write and pace a story. Enjoyed this all the way through never quite sure which way it was going. Recommend.

Although the first few chapters were a bit slow as they set the scene, the story soon picked up and had me guessing until the end.
The reading and writing were both first class and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book.

Gripping and well-read
