She tried to kill him, so he made her his wife.

Skadi first met her husband-to-be with blades in hand on the opposite side of a battle. She lost, and he claimed his prize.

To her horror, the king of the shadow elven agrees to marry her off to Jonas, a prince in the fae realms, as a way to unite their kingdoms against a shared enemy—the light elves. Skadi knows the marriage is nothing but a political game. Feelings won't come into play.

Except her new husband makes not falling in love... challenging.

When new threats arise, Skadi must decide either to love her enemy or keep him alive by betraying him to another.

Welcome to another installment in the Ever Seas world where pirates, fae, and elves collide with Vikings in a dark fantasy romance between a morally gray cinnamon roll and the broken princess who steals his heart. This has a guaranteed HEA and is set in the same world as the bestselling Broken Kingdoms series. While it stands alone, it's best enjoyed after listening to The Ever King and The Ever Queen.

I Struggled with the Audio in the first 2 books but I felt the characters really matched the voice actors really well for this book. Just wish it was a duet. Brilliant third edition to the Ever Seas series looking forward to the 4th.

Great third book

Read the other 2 first but this was also excellent. Cinnamonroll MMC, found family, not an exaggerated level of drama but just right.

The ever seas is my new favourite

This was a re-listen for me, and after finishing the Broken Kingdoms series I enjoyed it even more the second time around. It’s easily my favourite in the Ever Seas series so far.

I love Jonas, characters like him always appeal to me and this book was such a joy to get lost in. Jonas and Skadi’s story felt like a fairytale and I adored the banter, I smiled and smirked my way through so much of the story.

The found family element in both series is a huge part of why I love these books so much and I think the Eastern Kingdom might be my favourite group because of it. Overall, it was just fun and really good.

Loved it!

I forgot how much I enjoyed the Ever seas books! This was very good! Skadi and Jonas have an arranged marriage, Skadi's background is full of horror due to abuse and being gaslighted for most of her life.
Jonas the nightmare "fae" is a good guy who has a terrifying power.
This like the other books is action packed and a solid romance!
I can't wait for the next instalment for Mira and Hearttalker. 😍
Narration was good, though the fmc talks fast and I had to rewind a couple of times!

Brilliant
