The book is as you'd expect - lots of teeth. Great idea for a story and enjoyable enough. The narration however was terrible. So monotonous that it was actually hard to follow what he was saying as there was no expression at all. And a weird timbre which was most distracting. Ruined the book for us unfortunately.

I read this myself before the movie came out and loved it, it's way better than the movie. Got this audiobook to listen to while I was working and man, it's difficult to stay engaged due to the narrator. I'd often find myself forgetting I was listening, even during the action. This is a story about a 70 foot maneating megalodon terrorising the seas but the way it's read you'd think it was about a Basking Shark floating about the sea filtering plankton and minding its own business.

The reader sounds like he'd much rather be narrating a gardening catalogue or something. Read the book, avoid the audiobook.

Apart from the names in the book, the film is almost unrecognisable. The book actually makes sense!

The narrator was not the right choice here, he barely sounded interested, was quite off putting in comparison to the narrator who does all the sequels.
