The performance is very good. But overall the "story" is poor to horrendous on many levels. The minor issue is the linguistically the historical accuracy is annoyingly poor. In terms of the story what story? There is no character development at all which makes it dull, but a series of encounters with very, very dubious at best consent, abuse and coercive control. There are some very contrived sentences in an obvious attempt to give balance but these are so ad odds to the story they stand out as after edits. There's a fine line in this genre and this book crosses that line to uncomfortable degrees. The national domestic abuse helpline is free for anyone who needs it.

Nope, not a good listen.
