I'm so sad to have finished book 4 because I have about six months to wait for the next wonderful instalment. I will miss all the characters and their lives.

Another compelling family saga incorporating in equal measure great historical moments from the period alongside the heartache and joys of life through the years of the Great War. Highly recommend.

Poignantly wonderful

My only gripe is that the narrator doesn't leave a pause when changing scenes/paragraphs, so it can be a bit confusing when she starts on about something new without so much as a breath.
I am thinking how selfish Beattie is in this story and poor Diana is still so naive even after all this time. Love that cook has a bit of love interest in this one.

Great narration for characters as always.
