A classic folktale about the hardworking hen and her freeloading friends, retold for beginners
Format: Paperback book and CD
The Little Red Hen works hard--all alone!--to turn her wheat seed into flour, while the goose gossips, the dog naps, and the cat preens. But when her lazy friends smell the fresh bread baking, they're eager to help her eat it!
In this easy-to-listen rendition, even the youngest listeners will enjoy the classic folktale about hard work and it's tasty reward.

This sprightly version of the timeless folktale, most likely of Russian origin, teaches children invaluable lessons regarding hard work, cooperation, and mutual respect in its vivid and entertaining depiction of the slothful cat, goose, and dog, who stand idly by as the diligent hen plants, harvests, and mills wheat to bake a delicious loaf of bread.
Kathleen McInerney's vivacious and energetic performance and soothing maternal tone will captivate young listeners, as will the buoyant musical score and amusing, perfectly placed sound effects.
