Hell has a problem. Two actually. The souls of Sandy Logan and Ian (Cher) Noble are missing and the fate of the Universe is at stake. John's deal to regain his life sounds easy. Until he discovers Sandy and Ian have both been reincarnated as pigeons and could be anywhere on Earth. What's more they died trying to stop the Prime Minister unleashing Emorfed on the unsuspecting public, a substance designed to remove human emotions.

John will have to travel to Hell and back, possess a sex addicted rock star, evade an agent with OCD who can't leave a room until he's shut the door three times, discover the secrets of the Limpet Syndrome, locate Sandy’s soul and bring down a government all before the summer solstice. In his pursuit to discover the truth of his own death, John is about to find out that death isn't the end; it's just the beginning of the end.

The Limpet Syndrome shows us a very different view of what awaits after death from what we may have seen before. With this being a Tony Moyle book there’s a large dose of humour involved too. We follow John Hewson as he is forced to do a deal with demons to avoid an eternity in hell. There are many threads that the author weaves together brilliantly to give his readers a fun entertaining story. What I found most impressive is how he avoided the tale deteriorating into complete farce and losing the credibility he worked so hard to create. Don’t get me wrong there are some wonderfully over the top moments but it’s always right on the line between hilarious and ludicrous and it works so well. I don’t want to give away anything from the story as it would, in my opinion, spoil it for future readers. The Limpet Syndrome is fast paced, featuring great characters and is extremely funny while at the same time somehow retaining a semblance of plausibility despite its fantastical subject. I’m pleased this is only book one of the series as I most definitely want more.
I’ve listened to many books read by Aubrey Parsons, from many different authors, and he always, without fail, does a superb job. There are many characters to breathe life into in this story, some with quite different accents too, and he does his usual excellent work bringing them all to life.

Imaginative, Well Written And Funny.

I got this audio book from the author in return for writing an honest review.
The story is a little unusual with the main character returning from the dead (sort of) to help resolve an issue that could destroy the world. The story flows along nicely with plenty going on to maintain interest, there are some comedic situations along with the more serious.
The narrator has good, clear speech and an interesting tone.
I would definitely recommend listening.

Great Story

I wasn't sure what to expect from this. I was gifted it and it took me a couple of months to even bother listening to it. Anyway, the story is irreverent and gripping whilst the performance is spot on. Seriously, give it a go.

Unexpected and very entertaining.

I received a free copy of the audio book for my honest review. all opinions are my own.

I wasn't sure at first about this book, but quickly became hocked on the plot line which involves many aspects of good and evil both on earth in limbo and hell. I loved the narration and the characters, and am looking forward to hearing the other parts on Audible soon.

a intriguing tale of "the other side"
