How much can one person go through until they break?

The chains around my wrists are gone.
The doors once locking me in, unbolted.
But I'm as far from free as could be.

My magic has been stolen, and my power and freedom are held ransom by my ruthless coven leader.

Grayson's obsession with furthering the Arcane bloodline, and his unrelenting desire to complete a dangerous spell, returning magic to the world, has consumed him. He is ready to destroy anyone who gets in his way. His brother, his coven, even me.
No one is safe.

In the shadows, my enemies are closing in.
Toby is far from finished with his obsession to regain his control over my mind, body, soul and magic.
Hunters are gathering.
And my past returns to haunt me far more than any nightmare ever could.

When the missing six weeks of my memory reveal a heart-breaking truth, everything changes.
And not even Gabriel may be able to stop me from seeking the revenge I so desperately crave.

I am loving every second of listening to this incredible series. The depths each character will go to for Love, hate and power keeps you on the edge of your seat through each chapter. I have told my husband that I'm in love with a fictional character and I stand by it! If you haven't, then read this series, listen to it. follow everything M J Lawrie creates, she is incredible!

Addictive Characters!

Once again, Amy Putt delivers a fantastic performance with the narration. She does an incredible job bringing the characters and emotions to life, which is especially important in a series as dark and intense as this one.

After finishing Volume One, I went straight into Volume Two, and the story definitely continues to deepen. The darker tone of this series really settles in here, with even more emotional intensity and character torment. M. J. Lawrie doesn’t hold back when it comes to putting the characters through their struggles.

The writing continues to be incredibly strong, with a lot of depth to both the world and the characters. You really start to see more layers unfolding in this installment, which makes the story even more gripping.

As with the first book, this series carries a lot of heavy themes, so I would still recommend checking trigger warnings before diving in. It’s not an easy ride, but the storytelling keeps you invested.

Again, this series is far more torment-heavy than spice-heavy, focusing more on the emotional journey and darker elements of the story rather than romance alone.

Volume Two builds on the foundation of the first book and keeps the momentum going, making it very hard not to immediately continue on to the next installment.

On to Book 3...

The second part of the story is brought to life beautifully by Amy Putt; I’m so envious of her ability to make every character sound unique. I’ve read the book before, so knew what to expect of the story, but it was so wonderful to hear it brought to life. I knew I’d cry at the devastating end. Absolutely brilliant

Emotional rollercoaster

The continuation of another great series by M. J. Lawrie. Action packed, Lilly goes through almost every heightened emotion possible as she is put through the ringer by friends and foe. Normally Lilly knows full well who her enemies are as they make it very obvious. However in this book, there are people 'Among Us' lying about who they truly are and what intentions they have for her. Some surprising and devastating revelations come to light and the ending had so many jaw dropping moments I can't wait to get stuck into Volume 3.

Amy Putt did a wonderful job narrating this book as per usual.

I definitely recommend this series.

OMG the Ending!!!

I could not stop listening. I like how the characters grew and developed along the way and not just the main character, even the side one’s as well. That makes you feel like you really get to know them and sometimes you don’t really know if you like them or hate them. Especially when you know their backstory. Lots of twists and turns I did not see coming in a dark and gruesome story. Can’t wait to start the next one.

Dark and intriguing story
