They were MI6’s most lethal assassins. Killers who lived in the shadows. Until now...

MI6 operative Duncan Grant has been officially missing in action for the last six months. Going on deep-cover to hunt down those responsible for the death of a close ally.

Half a world away, enjoying sedate retirement under new identities, former Albion agents are being murdered.

And now there’s only one left.

Given an ultimatum to save the last Albion or face expulsion from the agency he’s sacrificed so much for, Grant has no choice but to pursue both missions at the same time.

Unbeknownst to him, Grant’s relentless pursuit of revenge is about to reveal devastating secrets within the British establishment.

And they are determined to see Duncan Grant dead.©2024 Andrew Raymond (P)2024 W.F. Howes Ltd Action & Adventure Espionage Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Spies & Politics Suspense Thriller & Suspense

on its own, fun, despite no one having heard of flashbangs and everyone bar the hero being inept. BUT the story is konda a rehash rather than a development of the previous

good but pretty much a copy of the last book

I’ve listened to all 3 and love them. Great twisty plot and range of characters is just right

Angus King is a brilliant narrator

I have read and listened to hundreds of thrillers in my 73 years and I can honestly say this was the first time that there were sections in this book where I literally held my breath because I couldn’t believe what was going to happen next. It was the most twisty turny book I have ever listened to and if some of the facts contained about GCHQ are true then I am gobsmacked. When Andrew Raymond was writing about the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and attending meetings I identified with it all as I have been there myself. Everything about this book, totally captured me from the very beginning. I am sincerely hoping that there will be a follow on because it cannot be left the way it ended. Angus King of course was outstanding which he always is. He had me on the edge of my seat with his narration when dangerous things were happening which I have to say was nearly all the time. How the author even thought of this plot makes me realise he is one of the most talented authors at this point in time. This was an absolute cracker of a book.

A masterclass in intrigue

I really enjoyed this book. As always Angus King as the narrator was excellent.
My suspicions kept on switching from one character to another which I found to be pleasing.

Enjoyable listen

The story is a good mix of intrigue, human frailties and greed set in a variety of well described locations. You are never quite sure who to trust, trust no-one. The action scenes are well written and don’t get bogged down in gore. Andrew Raymond is an excellent story teller who clearly researches his books well.

A thoroughly good story
