When Judge Calvin Jeffries becomes the first sitting judge to be murdered while serving in office, charismatic criminal defense attorney Joseph Antonelli finds himself smack in the middle of a riveting case. As he works through the intricacies of a homicide audacious enough to strike at the heart of justice, the ensuing investigation and trial reveal a deadly trail of evil, shattered lives, and revenge. While challenging traditional notions of crime and punishment, the novel also calls into question the very principles of our judicial system and marks the breakthrough of a master storyteller. D.W. Buffas The Defense received great praise and grossed more than 40,000 hardcover copies. The Prosecution was also lauded by critics and garnered equally impressive sales. What would have made The Judgment better?

I was really looking forward to listening to this book. I've listened to about 1 1/2 hours and I've had to give it up. The narrator is simple terrible. I'm sure it's a good, well written story but the narrator, Dennis Predovic, has ruined it. There are long passages of dialogue and conversations. I got completely lost as Mr Predovic makes no attempt to change his voice for each of the characters. They all sound the same, So listening to a conversation it's very easy to get totally confused who's talking. It therefore makes a complete mess of what's going on. I've just checked, and this is the only book he's narrated for Audible. What a waste of money and time!

How could the performance have been better?

Simple. Change the narrator. Have someone who can intone differently for each character

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I'm sure the story's a good one

AVOID. Hugely Disappointing. Narrator ruined it!
