Some silences are heavier than others. But the worst is the silence that follows the scratching... Seeking absolute isolation for his studies, Malcolm Malcolmson rents a fortified, centuries-old Jacobean mansion. The locals beg him to stay away, whispering of the house's former master: a hanging judge of terrifying cruelty who took sadistic pleasure in sending men to the gallows. Ignoring the warnings, Malcolm moves in. At first, the only disturbance is the frantic scratching of rats behind the rotting wainscot. But when midnight strikes, the scratching suddenly stops. A suffocating stillness fills the room. Sitting in the judge's carved oak chair is a singular, monstrous rat, glaring with a malevolent, intelligent hatred. As a violent storm shakes the house, the fraying rope of the heavy roof bell begins to sway on its own. Can Malcolm escape before the trap snaps shut? Press play now... and find out if you can sleep once the audio stops! Gothic Horror
