Özet
A child missing. A mother accused. Charlie Parker is their only hope.

In Maine, Colleen Clark stands accused of the worst crime a mother can commit: the abduction and possible murder of her child. Everyone - ambitious politicians in an election season, hardened police, ordinary folk - has an opinion on the case, and most believe she is guilty.

But most is not all. Defending Colleen is the lawyer Moxie Castin, and working alongside him is the private investigator Charlie Parker, who senses the tale has another twist, one involving a husband too eager to accept his wife's guilt, a disgraced psychic seeking redemption, and an old crooked house deep in the Maine woods, a house that should never have been built.

A house, and what dwells beneath.

PRAISE FOR JOHN CONNOLLY
Masterly genre-splicing thrillers . . . Connolly's grip is inexorable
Charlie Parker . . . is one of modern fiction's most popular creations, a unique combination of a man who has one foot in the temporal world and the other in the spirit world
John Connolly is the creator of a unique blend of thriller and horror who receives rave reviews every time
One of the best thriller writers we have
There's no mistaking a John Connolly novel, with its singular characters, eerie subject matter and socko style

Great story line the characters and the sarcasm are second to none having read most of the books more than once I’ll be gutted if there are not more Charlie Parker books don’t know where I will go for my reading material

I love these books. This story was very enjoyable but not as layered and detailed as earlier books.

Very Enjoyable

My only complaint about this Charlie Parker audible is how late Angel and Louie first appeared in this novel.

Another Parker classic

Its hard to believe that this is the 21st book in the Charlie Parker series. The characters remain fresh, the storyline still sparkles Connolly’s Chandler-esque rapier wit still holds the ability to make the listener or reader laugh out loud no matter how dark the plot. Its good to see Angel, Louis and the Fulci brothers featuring. They have become as integral as Charlie Parker to the series.

Audiobook narration is so much more than “reading out loud”. Jeff Harding is an institution in audiobook narration. His skills in characterisation and delivery have sympathetically enhanced the complete Charlie Parker series; The Instruments of Darkness being no exception.

Thanks for reading.
