Nessa McRae’s life is all she could ask for; a well-earned reputation as a kick-ass tattoo artist with a list of clients out the door. All she ever wanted was to be able to pay her rent and eat in the same month, and she’s finally found that stability. Little does she know, she has an admirer...an inhuman monster hell-bent on devastating her.

Enter Ailes MacGillvary; an alpha male and all Nightingale - a paranormal protector of Edinburgh, Scotland. He’s tasked with guarding Nessa, but he also harbors secrets that could destroy her. Can he keep her safe - not only from the inhuman monster hot on her heels - but also from himself?

The Hunter is an excellent start to the Nightingale series. The story is well-plotted, fast-paced, action-packed, and wholly engaging. The premise of the storyline is fantastic and unique, my attention was captured from the start through the end. The characters are well-developed, intriguing, and bold. I loved Nessa, she was my kind of heroine, independent, smart, and capable. I'm definitely looking forward to the second book.

A stellar performance by Thomas Bestwick, aside from having an incredible voice and accent, he did an outstanding job with the characters and bringing the story to life. Overall, Hunter was a pleasant surprise, and a very enjoyable listen, one I'll highly recommend. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Loved the narration!
