I loved the narration of Lise Jones, who brings out the suspense, humour. pace and brings the characters to life in your ears.

Kate' is trying to get into the courthouse, with out a pass to talk to her former boss tail, what she thinks is murder, but it's embezzlement. Lucky she runs right into Mike who is good-looking , and her chance to get in. Mike is an investigative journalist for the New York Times and he's covering her boss's trial. Kate and Mike find themselves attracted to each other. But try and not show it. Kate lost her mother to a heart attack and Mike has been hurt by women, in the past, Both of them want fun and no more. Or do they. We have a mystery, romance, perfect. This mystery kept me guessing.

I really enjoyed listening to this book, the story moved at a good pace and had a little of everything, drama, romance, and intrigue. The narrator was good and used her voice well to differentiate the characters.
I look forward to reading or listening to more of Catherine's books.

The Audible version of The Hook is a beguiling listen that starts with a slow build and is full of mystery and suspense that will keep you guessing as the plot thickens. Full of twists and an intriguing plot, its a great who dunnit without the gore, making it both digestible and relaxing, while piquing your interest simultaneously. A great listen.
