The audiobook edition of
The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, read by the author's son, Ignat Solzhenitsyn.

With a new foreword written and read by Jordan B. Peterson, and an exclusive Q&A between Jordan B. Peterson and Ignat Solzhenitsyn.

The officially approved abridgement of The Gulag Archipelago Volumes I, II & III.

A vast canvas of camps, prisons, transit centres and secret police, of informers and spies and interrogators but also of everyday heroism, The Gulag Archipelago is Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's grand masterwork. Based on the testimony of some 200 survivors, and on the recollection of Solzhenitsyn's own 11 years in labour camps and exile, it chronicles the story of those at the heart of the Soviet Union who opposed Stalin, and for whom the key to survival lay not in hope but in despair.

A thoroughly researched document and a feat of literary and imaginative power, this edition of The Gulag Archipelago was abridged into one volume at the author's wish and with his full co-operation.

Ignat Solzhenitsyn's reading--I almost want to call it a dramatisation, a performance--of this father's great, terrible masterwork is the best reading I've so far heard on Audible. It's a fitting tribute to his father's achievement and will be worth listening to many times over.

Magnificent reading

This book has left me shocked, inspired, and angered by the acts of people.
The way the book is written isnot only original, but necessary to tell the story of the inhumanity of the Soviet governance of Russia. The banishment of the bourgeoisie and their execution, was replaced by oppression and tyrany directed at the general populace of this flawed country.
Soltzhenitsyn tells his and the story of other people who suffered at the hands of the Soviets. He also offers the reader historical information, that is informative and shocking in equal measure.
I believe that anyone who reads this incredible, powerful book will be enriched by not only it's content, but by the spirit of a great man who risked his to share his story with the World.

An enduring tale of humanity

Communism achieved one thing: to not be judged like the nazis and jet they killed more people and produce more horror that socialist party.
This book unveils this truth like few ever will, and few will want to believe that such evil was committed in the name of socialism and Communism, it is too inconvenient a truth for the leftist of the world, their main excuse is that they never had true communism, well thank F... for that, I can not imagine more horror than was produce trying to achieve it.
Usually, a book like this one takes me a bit more than a week to finish but it took two months, the horror was so devastating and consistent I could not take it; it is of such profundity that you feel sick in your heart that humans did this to other humans is believable but not comprehensible.
Please read it and learn the truth of what Communism has recreated several times, eliminating millions of PEOPLE in the name of progress the left and its inteligencia has allowed this to happen all over the world but have never truly criticized this history and always defend it because they see them selfs as superior to the humanity they want to control at any cost.

Totalitarian Communist brutality and murder.

I had been looking forward to the audio version of this book for some time.
I wanted to learn more about the human condition and didn’t know much of the Soviet regime. I come away with a deep appreciation of the suffering of ordinary Russian people and there triumphs large and small against the monsters within and without.
It is read with passion and skill.
If you’re on the fence about listening, my advice would be to invest the time in this masterpiece.

An amazing book.

I'm still shaking after having listened to this book. This has opened my eyes to the horrors of the system that spread its cancerous claws in Russia during the 20th century, and in some ways still infects it to this day. Solzhenitsyn writes with the intensity of a man who has lived through these horrors and a drive to make sure that the memories of his fellows does not fade. The narrator, in homage to his father's work, does not try to embellish the purpose, but allows the prose to speak for itself. The foreword and interview with Jordan Peterson is very interesting and offers us an additional layer of insight into the author. I am also convinced that this book should be essential reading for everyone in the Western world.

Breathtaking and Eye opening
